Planning creator visits for a store opening

Plan a store-opening creator visit with a useful experience, clear deliverables and a final offer check.

Plan a store-opening creator visit around what the creator can actually experience and what customers will find on arrival. Agree on access, filming, deliverables and a final release decision. Check the address, hours and offer before the post invites people in.

Decide what the visit will show

Choose one main audience question: what is available at the store, how a service works there, or what a visitor can expect. Specify attendance and content deliverables separately. Turning up at the opening does not by itself deliver a usable post.

Arrange access to the part of the store the creator will discuss. A demonstration may need a particular product, space and staff member. Do not ask for a first-person verdict on an experience the creator has not had.

Give the store and creator one visit plan

ItemDecision to make
ArrivalAddress, entrance, contact and arrival window.
ExperienceWhat the creator can try, ask about and film.
FilmingAgreed areas and a way to avoid filming people who do not want to appear.
OfferConfirmed hours, featured products, prices and conditions.
DeliverablesAssets, publishing account, draft date and posting window.
ReleasePerson who checks facts and gives a publish or hold instruction.

Match the visit time to the content. A quiet preview may allow a detailed explanation; a busy opening may show atmosphere but leave little time for a demonstration.

Check the opening before release

Shortly before publication, confirm customers can follow the route shown in the post. Check trading hours, the featured product, price or promotion, map destination and any booking page. If something changes, identify the affected spoken line, on-screen text, caption and link. Agree on a correction or hold the post.

At a hypothetical Brisbane homewares opening, a creator might film a shelf-styling demonstration during a preview. If a featured item is delayed, the invitation should be revised or held before publication.

Make a paid or incentivised relationship clear in the finished placement. The ACCC advises that promotional posts, including those involving gifts or other incentives, should be immediately recognisable to consumers. Review a short video on its own because viewers may encounter it without the event announcement.

After publication, record the final post, its time and the offer it showed. Keep customer visits, bookings and sales as observed business figures; do not assign every opening-day customer to the creator.
