Creator Sourcing
Choosing creators for a single-city promotion
Choose creators for a one-city offer using local content fit, comparable posts and audience evidence with its limits.
For a promotion available in one city, choose a creator who can make a credible local piece and show enough audience-fit evidence for the booking. A local address, city tag or large Australian following is a lead, not proof that people in the service area will see the post.
Define the usable offer
Write down where customers must be to take the next step. A store visit may depend on opening hours and travel; a same-day service may cover only selected suburbs.
Give every candidate the same location, dates, eligibility conditions and intended action. If the offer covers less than the whole city, assess fit against that smaller area.
Decide what the creator can contribute from experience. One creator might show how to reach a venue; another might demonstrate a service. Review ordinary posts to see whether that angle belongs in their work.
Define the usable offer before creator outreach
- Write down where customers must be to take the next step
- Check opening hours and travel for a store visit
- Check selected suburbs for a same-day service
- Give every candidate the same location, dates, eligibility conditions and intended action

- Decide what the creator can contribute from experience
- Review ordinary posts to see whether that angle belongs in their work
Request evidence for the proposed post
Ask for recent results from comparable content in the format you plan to buy. Keep each metric name, date range and any identified paid promotion visible.
Ask what geographic breakdown is available and whether it describes followers, viewers, views, watch time or reached accounts. Follower geography is background information, not a count of city residents who watched comparable posts.
TikTok One documents separate creator and audience country or region filters in its creator search; it does not establish a city audience.
If suitable city-level viewer evidence is unavailable, record the gap. Decide whether the content fit and other evidence support a limited booking, or whether geographic uncertainty is too consequential to proceed. Comments and visible place names cannot supply a missing city percentage.

Field / What to record
- Local angle
- The place or customer question the creator can show honestly.
- Comparable work
- Recent ordinary and sponsored examples in the intended format.
- Audience evidence
- Metric, dates, geographic level and known gaps.
- Practical fit
- Access, posting window, deliverables, fee and unresolved conditions.
For an inner-city café promotion, a creator who regularly covers nearby lunch options and can visit during service might have a useful angle. A wider-reaching creator could also fit if comparable content provides adequate local evidence. Judge either proposal against the café’s actual service area and the work being bought.
Before booking, state why the chosen person is credible for this offer and which audience assumption remains unverified. Before publication, check the current location, offer and commercial presentation in the complete post.
